It’s about life.” That’s how members of the award-winning comedy troupe The Water Coolers make everybody laugh. Sponsored by Live on Stage, The Water Coolers Comedy Troupe will be featured at the Arts and Education Auditorium in Bryan as the last performance of the current season. The stage program is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening,April 28. With original music, parodies of familiar songs and onpoint material about life and work, the cast of five New York City comics and singers, accompanied by piano, will celebrate the insanity of everyday life. As recipients of the 2009 Ensemble Entertainer of the Year award from Events Solutions Magazine, the cast features members whose resumes include performances at top comedy clubs like Igby’s, the Improv and the Broadway Comedy Club. They also have appeared in Broadway productions of Rock of Ages, Spamalot,
Wicked, Grease and Mama Mia. Each performance is a high-energy, hilarious session of song and sketch comedy kept fresh by the ever-changing challenges of modern life. For anyone who’s ever been held captive by the line, “And hold please,” or stalked by a sales parent with, “Who will buy — this crap for my kid’s school?” The Water Coolers take a hilarious look at what we all go through just making every week happen. The New York Post stated, “Anyone who suffers through the 9 to 5 grind will find plenty to relate to in The Water Coolers’ sharp comic timing and enormous energy.” Theater Mania reported that The Water Coolers combine the goofy, easy charm of a Saturday Night Live sketch with the polish and thoughtfulness
of a piece that’s had a much longer evolution. The Water Coolers have been blessed with New York comedy writers, directors, composers and business people who work together to create an authentic take on work and life. Those who have purchased new memberships for next year’s Live on Stage season may attend The Water Coolers as a bonus concert. Season memberships for next year still will be available at the door for $50 (adult), $15 (student) and $125 (family). After April 30, the season membership price for 2012-2013 will increase to $55 (adult), $20 (student), and $135 (family). Individual tickets at the door for The Water Coolers will be $25 each. For further information about the concert or season memberships, please contact 419-636-5170 or 419-636-1437
